What CITE stands for
CITE is Osoro's framework for scoring AI citation readiness across the four signal groups answer engines weight when they choose which sources to quote: Technical (can AI parse and trust the site), Content (is a self-contained answer available to lift), Entity (does the engine know who you are), and Trust (is the source corroborated by sources it already trusts).
Each pillar is scored 0-100 from crawl output and answer-engine response sampling, and the overall GEO score is a weighted combination of the four. The public methodology page documents the signals under each pillar.
Why the pillars are ordered
The pillars are dependent, not additive, and remediation sequences in the same order as the acronym's logic: a page an engine cannot parse never reaches extraction, an unattributable claim gets quoted anonymously, an uncorroborated source gets hedged or dropped. Fixing Content on a site that fails Technical buys nothing.
That dependency is why the fix queue in every audit orders Technical defects first, and why the framework resists being gamed: no amount of answer-shaped content compensates for a blocked crawler or a split entity.
